Meet Anja, our Events Manager! She’s worked at Peppy for just over a year, and during her time here has organised an amazing 65 virtual events!
What drew you to Peppy and what keeps you here?
When I was deciding on my dissertation topic in final year at Bournemouth University, I knew I wanted to talk to women about how their experience of menopause. After numerous conversations with my mum, it was crazy to me that the menopause was simply not spoken about.
The support available to women seemed to be little to none. 9,999 words, 8 months and 4 hours worth of transcripts later, I knew that I wanted to do something to help break the taboo around the word ‘menopause’. Joining the Peppy team allowed me do just that.
What keeps you here?
I heard about Peppy because of the menopause, and have stayed because the Peppy team is made up of such talented people, all with the same goal. It’s incredibly rewarding to learn from, work with and see the growth of a team who work together to help people get access to trustworthy support, that we all need.
What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on at Peppy and why?
My job at Peppy means I am lucky enough to have interesting conversations with such a range of people, covering so many different topics. At every event, I learn something new from the guest panellists.
Our recent event, Speaking Men’s Language, was incredibly eye-opening to work on, as there was so much to learn!
If you were stranded on an island – what one item would you take with you and why?
A surf board! May as well learn a new skill whilst I’m stranded.
What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without?
