Peppy's FAQs

Overview

What is Peppy?

Peppy is a first-of-its-kind digital health app that connects your people to support and advice from highly-qualified human health experts who are all leaders in their fields.

Our services cover under-served areas of healthcare that can make a big impact on an employee’s day-to-day working life. These include menopause, fertility, pregnancy and early parenthood, men’s health and women’s health.

Over 250 leading employers, and over a million users, now have access to life-changing healthcare support from Peppy’s experts including Axa health insurance, Meta, Dyson, NHS England, Disney and many more.

Through their Peppy app, your employees are able to  access support from health experts at a time that suits them and in a number of different ways, depending on what makes them feel most comfortable.

They can choose from  WhatsApp-style chats, one-to-one video consultations and live events  as well as videos, audios and articles from our specialist nurses, counsellors, consultants and other health professionals.

What kinds of companies can benefit most from Peppy services?

Peppy works with businesses across all industries from construction to banking, legal to manufacturing and many more.

The areas of healthcare we cover are universal and they affect many of us in different ways. Whether your employees are working on the shop floor or the post room and need help with their pregnancy, a manager dealing with a team member having fertility treatment or a CEO facing the confusing symptoms of perimenopause, Peppy can provide help and solutions, so your people can remain at their best, every day.

How can Peppy help me to attract, retain & engage the best employees?

In a post-Covid world, it’s never been tougher to attract and retain great teams. Now more than ever, the best people want to know their employer cares about their health and wellbeing, not only in the workplace but outside it.

For example, women in their 50s are the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace. Yet one in four of them actually consider leaving their jobs because of menopause symptoms – and one in ten actually do.

With access to help and advice from Peppy’s experts,  women are better able to manage their menopause and end up more engaged, healthier and happier at work than they were before.

How can Peppy help me make my workforce more diverse and inclusive?

The top three reasons why employers focus on DEI are to enhance the employer brand, align with organisational purpose and improve organisational performance. These are all intrinsically linked.

A diverse workforce means diverse health concerns and Peppy provides support and dedicated resources that cater for the specific needs of all employees to help ensure you meet, and exceed, your DEI goals.

I already have an Employee Assistance Program, why should I have Peppy?

EAPs were fit for purpose in a pre-Covid world. But not anymore. Employee Assistance Programmes are highly beneficial and offer generalist support.

But Peppy goes a  step further by giving your people easy access to human specialist support and advice through our expert Peppy practitioners.

What do HR, Benefits and other leaders say about Peppy?

Peppy can support people in ways the NHS simply can’t. As a result, we repeatedly hear about the fulfilment employers get from seeing Peppy make a tangible difference to the everyday lives of their people.

What does that mean in real terms? Ask our clients.

“From the point of view of increased engagement, job satisfaction, reduced absence, reduced attrition … it says a lot about your brand as an employer if you’re supporting menopause in the workplace”

Theresa Winters, Culture & Employee Value Proposition Lead, Santander UK

What do employees say about Peppy?

Our users’ wellbeing is hugely important to us at Peppy and every day, we hear about the life-changing effects access to our experts has had on them.

Here are just a few of the types of comments we get daily:

Having had a traumatic birth and postnatal issues, this is exactly what I needed. I was feeling very isolated and under-supported. Peppy gave me access to the support I needed when I needed it the most.’

Lisa, Peppy Parenthood user

‘The internet can be misleading, so I don’t trust everything I read. It’s great to talk to someone who can really understand your problems and work out a plan to overcome them.’

Emilie, Peppy Fertility user.

‘When my symptoms were in full swing, had it not been for all the help I received from you [Peppy clinical director Kathy Abernethy] and the Peppy nurses online, I would never have been in the right frame of mind to even think about applying for a new job, never mind actually going through the interview process and getting a promotion.’

Claire, Peppy menopause user

‘Without Peppy I wouldn’t have had the confidence to go into work and say, ‘By the way I am menopausal, and you’re going to have to work with me. The brain fog and anxiety were all affecting my role and my confidence – but the one-to-one advice from Peppy’s experts has been a life-changer.’
