Experienced practitioner with 20 years' experience in menopause support

About me

I initially trained as a nurse in various hospital settings and worked as a paramedic/nurse for 5 years within Manchester. I became a practice nurse after having my children and then started to develop an interest in women’s health. I then worked in a senior capacity in GP practices alongside A&E out-of-hours work. This is where I developed my interest in menopause, leading me to do the Gynaecological course in 2012 and the Menopause Foundations course in 2014. I have recently completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Advanced practice part of which involved women’s health modules, particularly in relation to medication management and advice. I am also a member of the British Menopause Society. Currently I work full time in General Practice, where I undertake menopause and women’s health consultations on a daily basis. I am the lead clinician for women’s services within this GP practice. I am married with two older teenage sons and enjoy playing netball and keeping fit. I regularly quiz with my family and enjoy getting out and about within the local countryside.
