The challenge

With 4,000 employees in the UK and a workforce that’s 65% male, BNP Paribas CIB faced a familiar but complex challenge:

How do you make wellbeing feel personal, relevant, and safe - especially for people who don’t typically engage?

Despite a strong benefits offering, there were gaps in awareness, trust, and early intervention, particularly in sensitive areas like menopause, fertility, and mental health.

The philosophy

Led by Lauren Lunniss, Health & Wellbeing Manager with two decades of industry experience, BNP Paribas’ wellbeing philosophy is rooted in empathy, equity, and access.

“Every individual’s journey is unique,” Lauren explains. “Our strategy had to reflect that.”

Their four-pillar framework - mental, physical, social, and financial - guides every decision, from benefits design to communication.

Why Peppy?

In 2020, BNP Paribas partnered with Peppy to support women navigating menopause. It was a data-driven decision - but much more than that, it was a human one. With 10% of the workforce falling within the menopausal age range, Lauren knew support couldn’t wait.

“ 3 in 4 individuals experience symptoms and 1 in 10 leave work due to the impact of menopause. These are senior, experienced professionals. So we knew that taking action to address this was essential.”

The results were transformational. An informal employee group, The Daisy Chain, turned into a thriving network. Engagement soared, and so did trust, loyalty and openness.

The impact

What started as a single, targeted initiative soon evolved into a complete ecosystem of care.

Building on the success of Peppy menopause support, we worked closely with BNP Paribas to extend support - adding fertility, pregnancy & early parenthood, men’s health, and women’s health services.

Each service is designed to meet their employees where they are, creating a connected, personalised experience that evolves with their needs.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

“Peppy enhances everything we already offer. It makes our benefits ecosystem more accessible, more inclusive - and far more human.”
